Terms of Service

1. What this is
Trailer Factory is a self-serve tool that generates short book-trailer videos using AI. You upload a cover, fill in a form, pay $29, and we render and email you three aspect-ratio videos.
2. Acceptable use
You may use Trailer Factory only for books you own the rights to (your own writing) or for which you have explicit permission from the copyright holder. You agree not to upload covers, blurbs, or text containing material that is unlawful, defamatory, or that infringes someone else's rights. We reserve the right to refuse or refund any order at our discretion if it appears to violate this section.
3. Adult content
Adult-genre books (e.g. explicit romance, romantasy with on-page sex) are welcome. Covers must comply with the platforms you intend to post the trailer on (TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, Amazon) — we don't enforce platform rules but you're responsible for not posting content where it isn't allowed.
4. Intellectual property
You own the resulting trailer outright. We retain a non-exclusive right to use the trailer (or a still from it) as a sample on this site, marketing material, or social posts. If you don't want your trailer used as a sample, email us within 7 days of delivery and we'll exclude it.
5. AI disclosure
Trailers are generated with AI tools — image generation (FLUX), narrator voice (ElevenLabs), and music (ElevenLabs Music) — and composited with ffmpeg. The narrator voice is synthetic. We'll disclose this on the result page so you can pass the disclosure on to your audience if needed.
6. Refunds
See the refund policy. tl;dr: orders are final because each trailer is custom-rendered on demand — the exception is non-delivery. If we can't deliver a working trailer, that order is refunded automatically.
7. Service availability
Best-effort uptime. The service depends on third-party APIs (Stripe, Resend, fal.ai, ElevenLabs) and Railway / Vercel infrastructure. If a render fails because an upstream service is down, we'll retry; if it persists, we refund.
8. Liability
We provide the service "as is" without warranty. We are not liable for any indirect or consequential damages, including but not limited to lost sales, lost rankings, platform takedowns, or distribution issues caused by AI-labeled content. Total liability is capped at the amount you paid for the trailer in question.
9. Changes
We may update these terms; the "Last updated" date at the top of the page reflects the most recent change. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.
